Golconda
By Lynn White

The weather forecast was right,

it’s raining again

as usual.

But this time is different.

There’s nothing usual

about this rain.

They’re all coming back,

those people

sent away

to live in the heavens.

And now they’ve been cloned

to all look the same.

That’s what happens up there

in the heavens.

And now they’re back

falling

as rain

lying

in puddles

on the ground

deeper and deeper.

This time the rain will last

forever.
