A Paean to Dargah Sharif
By Abhik Ganguly
Sandwiched in the Aravalli’s,
lies a city, where the cool breeze
blows from mountains, covered in
a sheath of gleaming moonlight.
The sweet sounds of qawwali echo
through hills from Dargah Sharif,
nicely tucked on narrow streets,
within the heart’s cave of the city.
Believers and seekers throng, some
to fulfill their unmet desires, some
to quench their spiritual thirsts, some
to seek solutions of incurable maladies.
However, in every pilgrim’s eyes, there’s
a light emblazoning with a yearning,
that shines forth with the radiance of
a thousand odd suns.
