Vibrant Visions

A group art Exhibition at ICCR Kolkata

27th to 29th December 2024

Paint Brush

When Brushes meet Bureucracy

In the hallowed halls of ICCR Kolkata, where the air hums with the echoes of creation, seven souls stepped forth from the corridors of duty to weave their dreams onto canvas. Senior civil servants by designation, artists by passion—they brought with them the delicate balance of discipline and abandon.

By day, they are architects of policy, stewards of finance, and guardians of administration. By night, they shed the weight of their titles, turning instead to the lightness of a brush, the rawness of charcoal, the fluid grace of watercolor. Oils capture their intensity, acrylics their versatility—each medium a new language, each stroke a testament to their need for respite.

Nivedita Biswas, Harmeet Singh, Neena Singh, RK Mishra, Rachna Chhoker, Shubhra, and Inderjeet Kaur—names etched in both files and frames. Their works span the spectrum: the bold whispers of abstracts, the quiet strength of portraits, the timeless beauty of landscapes. In their creations, there is a sense of release, of reclaiming a space unshackled by the demands of their day.

Kolkata, ever the patron of literature, music, and the fine arts, embraced this confluence of artistry and service with open arms. The city’s discerning gaze lingered on their pieces, finding in them a narrative of duality—of lives lived between spreadsheets and sketchpads, of hearts that balance duty with the need to dream.

The media bore witness to the celebration, amplifying the story of those who navigate both the world of governance and the universe of art. This exhibition was more than a showcase; it was a reminder that even the busiest hands yearn to create, and that beauty often blooms where it is least expected.
