Abhay K

The Wise Owl interviews Abhay K, a renowned poet-diplomat, who has authored several poetry collections namely The Seduction of Delhi, The Eight-Eyed Lord of Kathmandu, The Prophecy of Brasilia, The Alphabets of Latin America, and The Magic of Madagascar, among others. He has also edited several poetry anthologies like 100 Great Indian Poems, 100 More Great Indian Poems, New Brazilian Poems, The Bloomsbury Anthology of Great Indian Poems, The Bloomsbury Book of Great Indian Love Poems et al.His latest book-length poem Monsoon has been published by Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters


Abhay K's translation of Kalidasa’s Meghaduta and Ritusamhara has received Kalinga Literary Festival 2020-2021 Poetry Book of the Year Award. He has also received the SAARC Literary award for his contribution to contemporary South Asian Poetry and was nominated for the Pushcart Prize 2013. He has also been honoured with Asia-Pacific Excellence Award in 2014. His The Seduction of Delhi was shortlisted for Muse India Satish Verma Young Writer Award 2015.

Madan Lal

The Wise Owl talks to Mr Madan Lal, an internationally recognized and award-winning contemporary artist, who works in acrylic and mixed media. Born and brought up in rural Punjab and settled in Chandigarh (India), Mr Lal is an alumnus of the College of Art, Chandigarh. He has been feted and awarded the National Akademi Award by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in 2017, Silver medal by Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation in 2016, Emerging Artist Award by Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation in 2015, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi Samman 2019 and many others. His artwork is a part of collections of leading Galleries in India, U.K, Germany and the USA and also a part of private collections. He has been a part of innumerable National and International Workshops, art camps, group and solo shows in India and abroad.
