Blurb (Poem/Song)
By Deby Cedars

So many disappointments.

So many doctor’s appointments.

But the pain pills could not make me forget.

I would have said it all again without a regret.

But I never would have said it

had we never met.

You inspired the words,

by showing me something demented and disturbed.

You blocked me when you felt perturbed,

but in the whole scheme of things, you were just a blurb.

An ink stain on the page.

A man from a nightmare rage.

Do I star in your dreams,

when your sleeping underneath,

the eyes of my moonbeams?

Self-hatred comes to kill the thing.

Knowledge that you’ll never be the king.

You kill yourself off in a dream.

No rose quartz hearts dazzling.

No peace.  No harmony

Just sweat pouring out of thee.

Drenched in your designer sheets,

Can you feel the tempo of my musical beats?

When I sing goodbye, the song completes.

Celestial Event of 2024
By Deby Cedars

After beautiful columns light die from the moon eclipsing the sun,

there is no fright as in the old Mayan days.

Home in the garden, I sit and wait.

Just kindred spirits with the moon

and the nice optics playing not so quickly up on the hot Florda sky.

Pointing my shielded eyes towards the yellow ball

In view glancing for the zillionth time towards heaven

And the celestial events unfolding before me and taking place

Crescent sun overhead.

Wondering what else 2024 will have in store.
